The EU Digital Services Act is a set of rules aimed at making the internet safer within the EU, but applies to all services that are available within the EU. It ensures that digital platforms, including social media, marketplaces, and other online services, act responsibly in handling illegal content and protecting user rights online. The act emphasises transparency, accountability, and user safety, targeting everything from hate speech to counterfeit products.
