Q: Why did you build this?
A: IFTAS conducts community needs assessments, and we keep hearing the desire for Fediverse moderators to connect and share their experiences, learn from each other, and as one respondent put it, “together we are stronger“. IFTAS Connect is a community for the moderators, by the moderators. We hope you find it useful!
Q: What can I do here?
A: We have a crowd-sourced library of guides, tools and research; we also have discussion forums, IFTAS work groups, and member groups. Get help with moderation software, ask for assistance translating some content, or expand your knowledge on a cultural issue or online harms.
Q: Do I need to create an account?
A: You can browse the library without registering. You’ll need to create an account to join or start conversations, to upload content, and to join groups. if you have safety concerns, please contact us before requesting an account.
Q: What’s on the roadmap for IFTAS Connect?
A: We have numerous projects underway: community wiki, translation, training materials in an e-learning environment, and accessibility updates. If you have ideas on what you’d like us to add here, please tell us – this is your resource.
Q: Where’s all the tech support?
A: While we have areas dedicated to moderation tooling and other technical issues, for the most part the tech support needs are well-covered elsewhere. See this page for links to tech support communities.
