Creating a Group on IFTAS Connect

From the IFTAS Moderator Library, supporting Fediverse trust & safety

Updated on 2024-04-19

There are three types of Groups available, Social Groups, Community Workgroups, and IFTAS Workgroups.

Social Groups are a way to meet people with similar interests, subject matter expertise, or experience. Social Groups are publicly visible in the Groups Directory, anyone can join, and anyone can post in the Group Feed. Social Groups do not have their own Discussion Forum.

Workgroups are created to allow Members to work together on defined activities that require broad input. Workgroups do not have a Feed, but do have their own Discussion Forum

IFTAS Groups are for IFTAS staff and advisory groups.

To create a Group, you must have Group Organiser status. If you’d like a Group created, you can make a New Group Request.

When creating a Group, use the following table to select the correct options.
