We are observing a mass wave of account registration on open registration servers, followed by mass message creation with ten mentions each. A sample of the hashtags being used are below:
SW-ISAC recommends:
– requiring account approval for new registrations
– silencing observed servers
– suppress the relevant hashtags in your “trending hashtag” options
– recommend to your members to ignore or suppress direct mentions from unknown accounts
