Terrorist and Other Violent Extremist Content – Content produced by or supportive of groups that identify as, or have been designated as terrorist or violent organizations, or content that promotes acts of terrorism or violent extremism.
Background
This content promotes or glorifies terrorist organisations or violent extremism, aiming to radicalise or incite violence. Quickly identifying and removing extremist content is crucial.
Content is considered TVEC when it meets one of the three following criteria:
- Content associated with a terrorist entity on the United Nations Security Council’s Consolidated Sanctions List
- Content created by a perpetrator or accomplice of an attack that leads to the activation of the GIFCT Incident Response Framework – see this page for a list of Content Incident Protocol activations (scroll down to “CIP Activations”)
- Content aligned with Behavioral Inclusion Parameters, meaning:
- be a non-governmental entity,
- have a violent extremist identifier,
- have a core hate-based ideology,
- advocate for/call to violence.
TVEC will fall into one of the following categories:
- Attacker Manifestos
- Branded Terrorist Publications
- Terrorist Content Analytics Platform (TCAP) URLs

The Tech Against Terrorism Knowledge Sharing Platform is a platform to provide smaller tech companies with a collection of interactive tools and resources designed to support their operational and policy-oriented efforts with regard to developing and implementing an effective and human rights compliant counterterrorism response.
Tech Against Terrorism also offers a Hash Verification API that provides platforms with an interface to check if any content uploaded by their users has already been identified as terrorist content by the TCAP. Platforms query the API with a list of up to 50 hash strings corresponding to files from their own systems. In turn, they receive a response indicating if any of those files are, or are likely to be, terrorist content. Apply for access online.

The Christchurch Call is jointly led by the Governments of France and Aotearoa New Zealand and joined by over 100 governments and platforms. The Christchurch Call text describes the 25 commitments they commit to deliver transparently, and in a way that respects and promotes human rights and a free, open, secure internet.

Example Rule
Sharing, reposting, or disseminating content that glorifies, supports, or promotes terrorist activities or violent extremism is strictly prohibited, including the resharing of such content even if the original post was made elsewhere. This policy extends to all forms of media shared on our platform. Violation of this rule will result in immediate content removal and could lead to account suspension or termination.
